Taylor and Nova: The Octopus Tree in Huntington Beach State Park
One of the best parts of my job is switching from all different types of families day to day. Taylor and her best friend, Nova, at the iconic Octopus Tree in Huntington State Park, Murrells Inlet, SC really pulled at my heartstrings.
I adventured to find the Octopus Tree the week before and it was easier to find than I thought. The tree has twisted, tentacle-like branches coming up from the ground. The story is that it fell over and still thrived. This unique spot in Huntington State Park creates a fun and interesting setting for a fun session for nature lovers, and anyone who doesn’t mind a short walk down the trail.
Taylor and Nova’s connection, built through countless adventures and moves, exemplifies loyalty and love. Capturing their joy and companionship beneath the tree’s shade was a heartwarming experience and a reminder of the bond between humans and their furry friends. She reminded me so much of my best friend back home in NY who also has a sweet pup named Nova.
As a family photographer in Myrtle Beach, I welcome any ideas for spots you have or haven’t been to in this beautiful area. Part of my job is the adventure and it is why I love living and working here. Huntington State Park in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, never seems to stop surprising me. I continue to explore this park because it has so much more to offer. So whether you’re planning a pet photography session, family portraits, or just a peaceful day in nature, this park provides an unmatched atmosphere. Thank you, Taylor and Nova, for such a fun evening and so many amazing photos to share.
